1. Baggeridge Country Park, near Wombourne – free to enter, with well-equipped play area, family mountain bike trail, and fishing at Island Pool (£5 adults, £3.50 child/concessions)

Ideas for Adventurous families
Step-back in time, and literally let off some steam, at our heritage steam railways, all located in beautiful countryside with walks and activities nearby.
Explore a WWI trench, re-enact your own Mercian battle, or play the role of an actor, potter, doctor or vet!

7. Apedale Valley Light Railway – Family ticket £23.00 for two adults and up to four children. Day tickets £4 return (adult), £2 return (child). And the stunning Apedale Country Park is next door!

Things to do in Staffordshire for Creative families
Head for Stoke-on-Trent the World Capital of Ceramics for some seriously creative hands-on pottery fun.
Have a go on the Potter’s wheel, get clever with clay, paint & decorate pottery and be inspired by our famous designers and makers.
