Wetton Mill and the Manifold Valley

About

This quaint epicentre of the Manifold Valley plays host to a redundant corn mill that closed in 1857. It has now been converted into a scenic picnic spot, tearoom and two National Trust Holiday Cottages which offer the views of a beautiful rugged landscape. the gentle twitters of song birds and peace of the valley from which to enjoy your visit.

Wetton Mill is surrounded by the meandering River Manifold which during periods of low rainfall mysteriously disappears underground to reappear at Ilam Park, a large stretch of the old abandoned Leek and Manifold Light Railway track that is now an accessible tarmaced footpath and cycle way, imposing caves and footpaths that criss-cross across the rugged open countryside of the White Peaks.

Tea Room

Wetton Mill Tearooms are situated mid way along the Manifold Valley next to the river. Many are attracted to the local walks with Thor's cave 1 mile away and the flat cycle track is appealing to both young and old.
