Staffordshire Market Days
There’s a huge range of markets in Staffordshire, perfect whether you’re looking for a bargain, a unique gift for someone special, or just the finest, freshest produce around.
Our bustling street markets go back hundreds of years and offer everything you could ask for.
Peruse more than 80 stalls, six days a week in historic Newcastle-under-Lyme, which has held a market on The Stones since 1173.
Savour the homegrown veg, organic and free range meat and eggs, and delicious pies, cheeses and cakes at Newcastle-under-Lyme’s regular farmers markets, and shop for unusual bargains at artisan and antiques & collectibles markets.
Roam the busy town of Leek in the Staffordshire Peak District, a renowned centre for antiques, and hunt for bargains on stalls selling ceramics, paintings, toys and more at the weekly antiques market.
Get a flavour of Staffordshire at the town’s Totally Locally Sunday Supplement market, on the first Sunday of the month, which brings together a host of local food producers and arts and crafts traders.
For fans of handmade products, there is the monthly fine food and artisan craft fayre at World of Wedgwood, with stalls and live music to enjoy, and the chance to test your creative skills in the Master Craft Studio.
Relish the hog roasts, real ales and stalls galore in beautiful surroundings at the Makers Market at Mercia Marina.
Lose yourself among the artisans and regular traders at the traditional Penkridge Market, a fresh, vibrant event every Wednesday and Saturday.
Sample mouth-watering Staffordshire fare, including delicious vegetables, meat, bread and cakes, at street markets in Stone and Cannock.
Find great savings in the Market Square in Lichfield, where there has been a market since 1153, as well as some horrible histories – many opponents of Queen Mary were burnt at the stake there in the 16th Century.
Explore more traditional markets in Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford, and Cheadle, in the Staffordshire Peak District, where there are indoor markets and a warm welcome in the beautiful restored Victorian Market Hall.
