Looking for somewhere to Pick Your Own Pumpkins in Staffordshire?

With thousands of pumpkins of all shapes, sizes and colours growing across the county, there's nowhere better than Staffordshire for picking your own pumpkins this Autumn.

Here are five of the best pumpkin patches in Staffordshire, which all offer huge selections, areas for carving - no mess at home - and other themed activities and entertainment.

Lower Drayton Farm

When: selected dates from 28th September, then every day from 12th-31st October

Time: 9.30am-5.30pm

Activities: visit Staffordshire's biggest pumpkin patch at Lower Drayton Farm, where there's more than 150,000 pumpkins to choose from. Pick from the patch - after a fun trailer ride - or from the indoor pumpkin village if you prefer. Carve your devilish design in the carving barn.

National Forest Adventure Farm

When: selected dates from 5th-31st October

Time: 10am-2pm

Activities: brand new for 2024, the Pumpkin Village at the National Forest Adventure Farm gives you the chance to PYO pumpkin to take home and carve, with fab entertainment including roaming characters, as well as photo opps and delicious food & drink.

Price: £5 adults/children, £2.50 carers, and free for under 2s. Pumpkins not included.

Canalside Farm

When: 4th-29th October (selected dates), late night slots 11th, 18th and 25th

Time: 9am-4.30pm (5pm-9.30pm for evening events)

Activities: there's a bumper crop waiting for you at Canalside Farm's Pick Your Own Pumpkin Experiences. Enjoy family games, photo opps, maize maze and even a silent disco. Or pick your pumpkin after dark at the Late Night Pumpkin Picking Experiences, with glow performers, UV maze, marshmallow toasting, and street food. Advance booking required.

Price: £4 each, or £6 for Late Night Pumpkin Picking. Additional cost for pumpkins, which are charged by weight.

Amerton Farm

Time: sessions at 10am and 2pm (5pm-7pm for evening events)

Activities: visit Amerton Farm for an unforgettable PYO Pumpkin experience in Staffordshire. Head for the daytime Halloween Spooktacular, with picking and carving, and spooky fun around the farm. Or choose Pumpkins by Twilight with Witches (26th & 30th October only) where after picking your pumpkin, you'll get to enjoy entertainment from the Hocus Pocus Witches, and maybe get your face painted! Lichfield Maize Maze

Activities: explore the maze and the Spooky Sunflower Walk, and pick a pumpkin from the hidden patch at Lichfield Maize Maze, before enjoying the family fun of the straw bale towers, mini tractor yard, and giant sandpit.

Price: £9 adults, £7 children/senior citizens, £30 family (2 adults & 2 children, or 1 adult & 3 children). Pumpkins not included.

There are other farms offering PYO Pumpkins including Essington Farm, Bednall, Woore Fruit Farm, and Manor Farm Fruits, and there's pumpkin picking with a difference at Wetley Moor Alpacas in Stoke-on-Trent, and Tunstall Park Farm, at Woodseaves near Stafford!

Pre-booking is essential

At the time of writing, these patches had a good crop of pumpkins, but they are anticipating high demand, so we would recommend booking your slot as soon as possible.
