1. Snowdome

Spend the day in the Snow Fun Park, where it's £22 for a family of four to enjoy the huge snow slide, the treehouse, and tons of snowballs. Book here.

2. National Memorial Arboretum

'Look Up' is a five-week project, running from 27th July to 31st August, with a daily programme of things to do like sensory play, arts & crafts, theatre performances, poetry and story-telling.

3. The National Forest

There are some lovely rambles for little legs in The National Forest, including The Deer Park Farm Walk, which starts and finishes at The Deer Park in Hoar Cross. Enjoy a relaxing stroll through 15000 newly-planted trees and see the deer and alpacas. Visit https://deerpark.farm/ for details.

4. Staffordshire Wildlife Trust

There are events across the county as part of Staffordshire Wildlife Trust's summer programme, and most of them are free!

Eton Community Park has GetWild on 6th, 7th and 8th August, while Hodge Lane hosts Wildfamilies on 9th August (with a free session for SEND families in partnership with Aiming High).

5. Tamworth Castle & Grounds

Explore the castle as you hunt for dragon eggs, meet the cute baby dragons and the experienced dragon charmers, take on the dragon challenges, and more along the way.

Tickets are priced at £9.95 adults, £7.50 children, or £37.50 for a family of five. Annual passes are £29.75 adults, £22.50 children, for unlimited visits.

Away from the castle, there are loads of free things to do in the castle grounds, including free table tennis, and the Planet Walk, where you can discover the Solar System.

6. Lichfield Cathedral

The Beach is back at Lichfield Cathedral! From 24th July to 1st September, you can build sandcastles, laze in deckchairs, and on selected dates enjoy crafts, live magic and more! Visit https://www.lichfield-cathedral.org/what-s-on/summer for details.

7. Burton Barrel Roll

A colourfully decorated beer barrel in a park on a sunny dayFor the first time, Burton is hosting a fully 3D sculpture trail dedicated to the town's brewing heritage.

The Burton Barrel Roll, which is free-to-do, features 14 giant beer barrels dotted around the town centre, each one has been decorated by local and national artists.

8. Brewhouse on Tour

There are family fun activities, including crafts and live performances from professional theatre companies, as Brewhouse on Tour returns to East Staffordshire.

9. Staffordshire Libraries

10. Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum
